A few years ago, I’m giving a talk at a conference about getting your website found on the search engines. Sitting in the front row is the person preparing to give the talk right after mine. She’s a real estate agent. A successful real estate agent. But she doesn’t look like your typical real estate agent.
She isn’t overly friendly. She doesn’t look like a beauty pageant contestant.
She looks professional. But not like someone who spends a lot of time in front of the mirror or at the beauty shop (Not all real estate agents fit this stereotype, but you have to admit, the real estate industry does attract more Barbie dolls than the accounting profession, or computer programming or mechanical engineering. Just saying…. )
After my presentation, I decide to sit in on her session. You can tell she’s a little nervous. But she tells everyone in the room her experiences on becoming one of the top producing real estate agents in her town.
What’s her secret? She writes blog posts consistently every week about the neighborhoods and houses for sale in her town.
Wow. A real estate top producer who spends hours every week working on her website. And her website does a lot of the selling for her.
In her talk, she gives examples of people who read her “blog posts” and decide to hire her as their real estate agent (before ever meeting her face-to-face). Her website did the selling. They feel like they already know her. They trust her.
Your website can do the same thing. One of the easiest ways to start is with a WordPress powered website and a professionally designed, mobile responsive theme.
I highly recommend StudioPress products. Like I’ve said before, I use StudioPress themes for clients all the time. Because they’re mobile responsive, Google friendly, and work with WordPress.
You should check them out. Here’s the link to StudioPress ›
